Where the directory data comes from

Listings come from BCA open data and named public industry sources. Every company page says where its information came from and whether the company holds a current BCA registration.

BCA registration data

BCA records come from the Building and Construction Authority's Listing of Registered Contractors on data.gov.sg.

The source contains the legal company name, UEN, BCA workhead, CRS grade, registration expiry, business address and a listed telephone number. A company appears once for each registration it holds.

Industry listings

We also list Singapore construction-industry companies that aren't in the BCA dataset: suppliers, manufacturers, consultants and service businesses. Each needs a UEN, a named public source and the date we reviewed it. They are labelled as industry listings and never presented as BCA registrations.

How updates work

Every import keeps the original source rows and records when each company was first and last seen. An incomplete download never marks anything inactive: we only reconcile the directory once the full dataset has been fetched and its record count matches the source's.

Keeping sources separate

BCA data, industry-source data and details supplied by a claimed company are stored separately. A BCA refresh can't remove an industry listing or overwrite a company's own profile.

Licence

Government data is used under the Singapore Open Data Licence. The access date is the refresh date shown above.

Important limitations

A directory listing is not an endorsement, performance assessment, warranty or statement that a company is right for a specific job. An industry listing does not imply BCA registration. Data can change between reviews and imports. Before a significant decision, confirm details against BCA's current records and check any other licence the work requires.
